Listen to your body and learn from your experiences during training sessions.
Train under the same conditions as you will race e.g. terrain, time of day and weather conditions.
Recognise the early signs and symptoms of blisters, dehydration, low blood sugar levels, hot or cold illness. Then make the decision to treat these injuries and illnesses when you first notice them, but better still understand when and why they occur and prevent them from happening.
